Mr Steve Orr formally Managing Director of The Belfast Ropework Company Limited, founded Steve Orr Ltd, a Private limited company.

1977

The Company is based in Holywood, Northern lreland that grows rapidly. It becomes a full line provider of Baler Twine, Netwrap and Stretch Film for the agricultural sector in UK and lreland

1988

Farmer’s is Registered and becomes the company’s brand and logo

1992

The Company takes over the sales team of Bridon Fibres and then becomes the largest Baler Twine distributor in the UK.

1996

Steve Orr Ltd forms a manufacturing subsidiary – UPU Industries Ltd – to manufacture Round Bale Netwrap for UK & Ireland

1996

Mr Philip Orr is appointed Managing Director.

1997

Big Square Baler Twine production is added due to the installation of the World’s first fully automated in-line production line from Sima, ltaly.

1998

UPU Industries Ltd begins exporting to Europe and the United States of America. 1999 – New Extrusion and Knitting capacity added.

1999

New Extrusion and Knitting capacity added.

2000

Steve Orr Ltd becomes a Private Holding Company and all Trade is conducted through UPU lndustries Ltd

2004

Steve Orr Ltd establishes a manufacturing subsidairy – UPU Industries Inc. – to manufacture Round Bale Netwrap in the USA.

2018

The Group is the Sole manufacturer in the United States of America.

2018

UPU expanded its global reach by securing a range of new international contracts.
